Risk of Sciatica |
|||||||||
| A) Aging Process Sciatica might be caused by excessive wear and tear of the body part, which puts pressure on the sciatic nerve, leading to sciatica syndrome. Some pain killers would help but recovery would be faster with appropriate rest and exercises. B) Psychological Factor There is a psychological factor which governs patient’s mind. Once if the patient has suffered from Sciatica and even if minor pain is experienced the second time, the patient guesses that it is the same syndrome and expects the same treatment, though it is not the case. Onset of pain One needs to take into consideration, when did the pain begin and where did it originate from, and what was the chief cause of it. That needs to be put into patient’s mind. The perception of pain Patient should be made to understand that the cause and the symptoms are different and not so severe. His perception of the pain should be taken care of and its essential to handle the case with care. Chronic pain If chronic pain begins and is acute, a professional doctor should be consulted and treatment should be availed just in time. C) Genetic factor The disease can be inherited, if the child is born with spinal cord abnormalities. But such cases are rarely seen. Inherited Spinal Structure Abnormalities If the spinal cord structure is not perfect, the baby has a cramp in the back and the leg. This is a hereditary disorder and is tough to heal. Surgery is required to fix the spinal cord, and if that goes well, sciatica won’t trouble the patient any more. Inherited Weakened Discs If the inherited discs are weak there are chances of them being slipped away, causing sciatica?
